S'more Cottage

I received the pattern called Log Cottage by Anna Fournelle of Fresh Dew Drops Quilting from Angie Erickson of Sunflower Quilt Co in Axtell UT.  I also purchased fabric from her to make this quilt.  The jelly roll is Love You S'more by Gracey Larson for Riley Blake Designs.  I used Grunge fabric in Christmas Green for the center of the blocks & Grunge in Metropolis Fog as the background fabric.  I did use the left over fabric to add a border as well as in the scrappy binding.

The quilt is 70" x 95 1/2" & is backed with 108" brown fabric which I purchased from Quilting4Love in Monroe UT.

The machine quilting is an edge to edge pantograph called Fishtail Palm from Urban Elementz.  I used Glide Thread in the color Linen for the machine quilting.

I machine bound the quilt and I am very happy with the results.  I had enough leftovers to create a pillowcase for the quilt.  Waste not Want not......

I added a border using the leftover pieces.
70" x 95 1/2"
The binding used 4 of the 5 left over jelly roll strips &
4 strips of the Grunge Christmas Green.

I Love You S'more jelly roll

Of course the label - S'more Cottage

and the pillowcase using even more
of the left over pieces.

Block Exchange 2023

Completed my quilt using the blocks made by our Block of the Month Exchange group for 2023.  What a great year it was!  Each person in the group chose a quilt block and instructed us on what colors they wanted used in their block.  Some chose to include certain fabrics as their finished quilt was to have identical fabrics in their blocks.  Sometimes choosing fabrics was a little challenging as one person's cream may be another person's off white.  The block I chose is called "Fool's Square".  My color choices were to use a red & white/cream fabric using the same red & white/cream in the block.  Some chose white on white (including myself) for the background and the reds are a treasure trove of different prints.  I really like the finished quilt.  One of the blocks had a much darker background, however, as there were 25 of us I was able to put that block in the center which worked out so well!

I added a border and the quilt is 59" x 59".  The machine edge to edge quilt design is called "Deco Vine" by Meredith England.  I used a red thread and love the way it pops on the quilt.

Each block may not be constructed exactly the same but
all together they work beautifully.

The label names each individual who made a block.
