Baby quilts

Taking it easy today with a sinus infection.  My voice is husky and almost gone and the coughing at night is the pits.  But quilting always makes me feel better.  Just finished machine quilting a couple of baby quilts.  One is for my great nephew due in a short time & one extra.  I had alot of the fabric & decided for every quilt I make for someone specific I will make an extra quilt to donate.  Just need to put the binding on these two quilts & then put a couple more quilts on the frame.  The backing fabric is a Disney print with the words " Second star to the right and striaght on till morning...all it takes is faith and trust, oh! and something I forgot: dust."

January BOMs

Forgot to post the January block of the months from Craftsy to my blog.  Here you go.

February BOMs

Came home from work tonight & finished my February block of the month blocks that I am following on Craftsy.  I am using only fabric from my stash so the Chunky Chevron is not as chunky as the pattern as I used more of the green print that the background fabric.  But you know what - I can live with that.  I really like the Balkan Puzzle block.  I will definitely make that pattern again.  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Jacob's Ladder Finished

Finished my Jacob's Ladder quilt last night.  I used Jenny Doan from Missouri Star Quilt Co.'s technique.  It was easy & fun.  I purchased the St. Patrick's Day fabric on clearance last year.  Used an extra block for the label (notice one unit is upside down) that's why it didn't make it into the quilt top.  The name of the quilt is "Dublin".  Next projects - my February BOM blocks & a quilt for a new great nephew who is on his way.  Keep in stitches everyone!

Trying a new technique

I watched Jenny Doan's tutorial on the Missouri Star Quilt Company YouTube site for making a Jacob's Ladder quilt. I had purchased some St. Patricks Day fabric on clearance last year and this patter is perfect for using that up. Finished the blocks & squared them up ready to sew them together.  I love the green & black colors together.  Can't wait to get it sewn together & on the quilt frame!
