I finally finished machine quilting the second quilt top that hubby received from his DNA relative. I kept the stitching simple by using a stipple design. I had a wonderful striped fabric piece that was gifted to me (thank you Francine Dunsing) that worked out so well for this quilt. I made bias binding from the same backing fabric. There were some piecing flaws & it wasn't squared but I didn't have the heart to make any changes. Hubby will love this quilt no matter what because his blood relative made it. The family has been so wonderful to hubby & I hope they know how much he appreciates being acknowledged as a part of his Paternal DNA family.
The quilt measures approximately 78" x 82"
I love the layout that Grandma Pleasy used
I included a part of the letter that accompanied
the quilt tops as well as a photo of Pleasy's
headstone on my label. Notice if you can the little
sewing machine in the lower left of the
photo. Pleasy & I may have been cut
from the same cloth.
