In the McCall's Quick Quilts October/November 2018 edition there was a quilt pattern called Bonfire which was designed by Scott Flanagan. I had a jelly roll of Bali Pop batiks that was just perfect for this quilt. I used a tan print for the background, used all of the batik strips plus I added a green patterned fabric in as well. Needless to say I really like this pattern. I have actually cut out enough scraps to make another one.
My quilt finished at approximately 72" x 90". I machine quilted the quilt using an edge to edge free motion swirl/loop design. I named this one "Pacifica" after the border fabric. I pieced the backing with what was left of the fabric used in the borders as well as some of the green patterned fabric & some gold fabric. Waste not Want not!
